Job Description
The Accounting and Regulatory Specialist will be responsible for accounting entries, receivables and payables monitoring, vendor inquiries and payments, customer invoicing, inventory entries and reconciliations and a number of quantitative data analyses. Additional areas of responsibility include federal and state regulatory compliance, which encompass excise tax, label registration, formula registration, licensure and various reporting. This position requires an unnatural attention to detail, specific professional experience and critical thinking and execution.

Job Responsibilities
• Accounting
o QuickBooks use including vendor bills and payments, journal entries, bank reconciliations, A/P monitoring and A/R monitoring
o Work with in-house inventory/manufacturing/invoicing software, including automatic and manual data migrations to QuickBooks
o Conduct weekly inventory audits, explore and define discrepancies and report to production, marketing and operations teams
o Work with marketing, operations and leadership teams to originate purchase orders, develop raw materials needs forecasts, develop production forecasts and build/maintain relationships with a wide array of vendors, customers, partners, retailers and distributors
• Regulatory Compliance
o Maintain all local, state and federal licensure with tax, alcohol, health and municipal regulators, including regulators in all out of state markets, current and future
o Ensure compliance with federal and state labeling and formula regulations by filing label approval applications, managing any corrective action, maintaining an approval database of all brands, relaying approvals to distribution partners and filing renewals when necessary
o Gather and compile requisite sales data and file federal and state excise tax documentation and payments
o Compile and submit various federal and state regulatory reports

Candidate Qualifications
• Absolute (don’t apply without these)
o Self-motivated, self-starter with ability to excel in instances of limited direction
o Excellent interpersonal, communications, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
o Dedicated sense of urgency and drive to achieve objectives
o Ability to succeed in, and contribute to, a multi-disciplinary team environment
o Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with varying levels of importance and difficulty
o Understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles
o At least two years’ experience working in QuickBooks, Sage/Peachtree or other accounting software (including enterprise-level systems)
o At least two years’ experience managing vendor and customer relationships
o In depth and practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, lookups, sort and filter functions, formula troubleshooting and tracing, data manipulation and graphing
o Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
o Desire to work hard, play hard and get things done
• Preferred
o Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics or economics
o At least two years’ work experience in accounting, finance or regulatory compliance fields
