#trailtotexas event schedule released for both Oklahoma and Texas
May 9, 2016
Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma City-based COOP Ale Works will be available in North Texas beginning June 6, 2016. To celebrate the launch, COOP will host a series of events on both sides of the Red River over the next three months.
The event series starts Saturday, May 14 with the #trailtotexas Kickoff Party at the COOP Ale Works Brewery Taproom. It continues in Oklahoma with events scheduled through the end of May. The Texas event series peaks with a premium presence at the Untapped Music & Beer Festival in Ft. Worth on June 11. Texas events continue with 60 events in 60 days spread across Wichita Falls, Denton and the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex.
“As excited as we are to enter Texas, we recognize the role that our fans in Oklahoma have played in our ability to expand distribution beyond our borders,” said COOP Co-Founder Daniel Mercer. “We’ll start this campaign with a series of events that celebrate our loyal friends and neighbors who have supported COOP for the past seven years.”
COOP’s flagship craft beer, F5 IPA, will lead the charge of brands launching in Texas. DNR Belgian-style Dark Ale, Native Amber and Horny Toad Blonde round out the offering that will hit Texas shelves in new six-pack, 12 oz. can configurations. All four varieties will be found on draft at many on-premise bars and restaurants as well as the most popular growler filling stations.
Joining COOP for many of the events in both states will be the legendary Big Friendly Beer Bus. The Big Friendly is a fully-modified school bus retrofit with an operational taproom.
Oklahoma Event Schedule
The festivities kick off Saturday, May 14 at the Coop Ale Works Brewery Taproom, 4745 Council Heights Road in Oklahoma City. The Big Friendly’s #trailtotexas kickoff features a special, limited draft release of The Big Friendly’s Trail to Texas Peach Berliner Weisse.
This is a very limited release. Draft pours will only be available during the Oklahoma special events listed below. 3,000 bottles will be released in small quantities throughout the schedule of Oklahoma events at soon-to-be-announced locations.
“The Big Friendly’s Trail to Texas is a kettle-soured Berliner Weisse, brewed with Pilsner and wheat malt,” said Head Brewer Blake Jarolim. “We added ten bushels of peaches to add solid fruit character to balance the tartness.”
